We have 3, count them 3 weddings to attend this summer plus Nathan’s grandparents’ 60th anniversary celebration. Of course I want to try and make a dress for all of this fantastic shindiggery, and I’ve settled on this pattern that I found via angry chicken:
I way love the look of this dress…I love that it looks curvy-girl friendly and I love that it is breast-feeding friendly too.
I’m going to have to do some monkeying about to learn how to multi-size the whole thing because I am one size on top and another on the bottom. I tried doing this hapharzardly on another dress and I got…well, haphazard results. I’m determined to figure this problem out though because this is just how I’m shaped.
Projects with Noah take obviously more time, so this will be a project that doesn’t magically appear here one day but more likely will have regular progress updates. I’m excited to take it on. It’s such a beautiful dress.

Cute dress! I would size your breast, then take away or add to the panels on the bottom? I obviously haven’t read the tutorial, just looking at the pictures!
Email me your address for a surprise!! I’m so glad Noah is being a good baby for you! Good babies are a BLESSING!! The “terrible twos” won’t be far behind, so enjoy the sweet loving!

Good luck. I had such a hard time finding clothes to fit when I was breastfeeding. It’s only recently that I feel like I am a more normal – well, balanced – shape, so I might attemt making myself some clothes. The idea of having to do loads of alterations always scared me off.

I love that purse. I made a few myself. I enjoy a small purse with pockets.

This is adorable!
I am a big purse person. I love lots of pockets and lots of room!
May 27, 2009 at 10:23 am
I like small satchels with at least a pocket for my cell phone…which I can never seem to find.

My ideal purse is giant – it needs to hold all of my books, notebooks, sewing projects, etc. I’d like it in a bold print like something from Anna Maria Horner’s Drawing Room line.
May 27, 2009 at 11:24 am
Wow! I love the handle on this. My ideal purse is big and mostly empty so I can fit my water bottle in it.
May 27, 2009 at 11:28 am
my ideal purse..hmmm.. i do like some pockets, but it’s more about how it goes with the outfit! this is adorable
May 27, 2009 at 12:44 pm
I like a larger purse with a zipper closure just to keep things more secure. I do like the newer fabrics…large floral yet soft colors.
May 27, 2009 at 1:31 pm
I need lots of pockets and long handles
Cute purse! I hope I win!
May 27, 2009 at 2:01 pm
My ideal bag would be huge but with lots of pockets so I can find everything!
May 27, 2009 at 2:30 pm
An extra set of arms!
May 27, 2009 at 2:46 pm
I love that purse!!! So stinkin’ cute!
I have to have a cell phone pocket in my purses and I like magnetic closers!
May 27, 2009 at 2:49 pm
This is the cutest bag! I like to have pockets inside to store my keys, cell, etc. So I am no rummaging around looking for them.
May 27, 2009 at 5:26 pm
I would love an overgrown wallet. Something with lots of zippered pockets.
May 27, 2009 at 5:39 pm
Very cute bag!

I would have a purse covered with buttons, I absolutely love them! Inside I would love to have dividers of some sorts to help organize it.
May 27, 2009 at 7:16 pm
I like bags big enough to hold my wallet and a diaper and items for my baby, but not so huge that they are uncomfortable.
May 27, 2009 at 7:36 pm
My perfect purse is large with lots of pockets, including one hidden pocket.
May 27, 2009 at 7:45 pm
Compact with pockets and roomy inside.
May 27, 2009 at 8:31 pm
My perfect purse is anything which matches lots of different outfits, has lots of inner pockets to store the many things a mother carries but isn’t so big that you look like you’re carrying the whole house with you.
May 27, 2009 at 9:57 pm
I like the old style purses that had a hidden zipper compartment at the bottom which opened to make the bag longer… what ever happened to those??
We’re having a give away too!!

My must have feature is an easy to get to pocket to hold car keys. I can’t stand digging around the bottom of the bag to find keys.
May 28, 2009 at 2:41 am
definitely pockets. I’d be lost without them!

ideally…a purse that is 9 x 9 would have a secret compartment for me to put ALL my stuff of 24″ x 24″.
thanks for the giveaway
May 28, 2009 at 8:39 am
I love a lipgloss pocket…I always need that at the ready. And a zipper, so my stuff doesn’t roll off on an airplane at takeoff (have had that happen before…not good!). This is the perfect summer bag!
May 28, 2009 at 9:04 am
An ideal purse MUST have room for all the stuff that I bring along because of my two babes. It also needs a “things” pocket inside so I can tuck my girl things in it without them spilling out or being found by my babes (as they are always digging in my purse). Besides that I like something original, unique.
May 28, 2009 at 9:30 am
I love your giveaway, and it does say “summer” imo too. My ideal purse would have pockets for change and lipsticks, and 2 separate compartments, one for baby stuff and one for my wallet, keys, etc.
May 28, 2009 at 11:31 am
I whole heartedly agree about the pockets. Inside and outside, lots of pockets. And pockets with zippers, cause I toss my purse around and things fall out of open pockets.
May 28, 2009 at 1:12 pm
Nice colors! My ideal purse has lots of pockets. A pocket on the outside is nice too so you can grab your ringing cell phone quickly!
May 28, 2009 at 1:35 pm
Great purse – I love purses that are big enough to hold my wallet and maybe a paperback.
May 28, 2009 at 1:40 pm
Great giveaway! Super cool bag and lovely blog too!
May 28, 2009 at 6:19 pm
my ideal bag has a lot of pockets and one big open area, too! this bag is lovely! thanks for the opportunity!
May 29, 2009 at 7:34 am
Love the purse. My perfect purse would be big enough to hold a diaper but have small pockets (individual) for a small wallet, cell phone, keys and sunglasses.
May 29, 2009 at 11:21 am
My ideal bag is big enough to hold my wallet, chapstick, hand wipes, and my daughters epi-pens…anything bigger just allows me to fill it with junk…like m&ms or rolos
) By the way, I read back a few posts since this is my first time here. Congrats on the new baby…adorable, and love the dress choice…i saw it at angry chicken too. Love it! Thanks for a chance to win that cute purse…orange is my favorie color

what a cute bag!
i’m starting to think that i need to carry a larger purse to accomodate my needs… so my perfect purse would have a zipper, be bold colors, long strap (for my every day purses, but like clutches for frolicking around), several pockets inside, and be about the size and sturdiness of a tote bag. thanks for the fun question!
May 29, 2009 at 2:38 pm
My ideal bag has space for credit cards, cash, keys, a small phone pocket on the outside & has a short strap.
Thanks for the contest!
May 30, 2009 at 5:01 pm
I think my favourite feature of a purse is size right now. I have to cart around everything but the kitchen sink lately for my toddler. If there is anything that I don’t have in my purse for a particular situation, that is the situation I find myself in. Better to overpack is my plan.
May 30, 2009 at 6:53 pm
My IDEAL purse is a backpack…big enough for a wallet, chapstick, keys and a extra diaper and wipes.
Thanks for a chacne to WIN your purse, I love the handle.
May 31, 2009 at 1:33 am
well. It depends who I’m with. If I’m by myself, a small bag, short handles are good. But if I’m with my kids. A larger bag with zipper (to prevent spills of the content!) and lots of pockets inside.
this bag is really pretty. Thanks for sharing.
May 31, 2009 at 11:07 am
for the perfect purse I need a magnetic closure, and lots of pockets.
May 31, 2009 at 7:48 pm
My perfect purse is big. I like to carry around a lot of stuff… too much stuff!
